Title VI Compliance

WATS MPO Title VI Public Notice
The Williamsport Area Transportation Study (WATS) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) fully complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Executive Order 12898 on Environmental Justice, and related nondiscrimination statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. WATS' website https://www.lyco.org/WATS-MPO, may be translated into multiple languages. Publications and other public documents can be made available in alternative languages and formats, as requested. 

WATS’ public meetings are always held in ADA-accessible facilities and in transit-accessible locations when possible. In the event that a WATS MPO meeting is held via a virtual format the dial-in numbers, conference codes, and meeting links will be advertised and posted on the WATS MPO social media sites, and the WATS MPO Committees website. Auxiliary services can be provided to individuals who submit a request at least four (4) business-days prior to a meeting. Requests made within three (3) business-days will be accommodated to the greatest extent possible.

Title VI requires that no person in the United States of America shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity for which WATS receives federal financial assistance.

Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice by WATS under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint. Any such complaint may be in writing and filed with the WATS’s Title VI Compliance Officer and/or the appropriate state or federal agency within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory occurrence. For more information on WATS’s Title VI program, or to obtain copies of WATS’ Title VI Policies, Complaint Procedures, or Complaint Form, please call (570) 320-2138, email swilliams@lyco.org, or visit the WATS MPO website at www.lyco.org/WATS-MPO. Documents will be made available in alternative languages or formats if requested. Persons requiring additional accommodations or those with questions should call 570-320-2138.

If you believe you have been denied participation opportunities, or otherwise discriminated against in relation to the programs or activities administered by WATS, you may file a complaint using the procedures provided in our complaint process document or by also contacting Scott Williams.
