Mission Statement
Lycoming County Juvenile Probation Officers incorporate three distinct principles in fulfilling court-ordered dispositions. The principles include community protection, accountability/victim restoration and building youth's competencies. These balanced and restorative justice principles are designed to enable youth and the community to be more improved leaving the system than when they entered. In conjunction with the principles, Officers incorporate evidence-based practices and cognitive behavioral programs into the youth’s individual Case Plans. The overall goal is the reduction of juvenile crime County-wide and lower recidivism rates among Officer caseloads.
