Lycoming County Conservation District

The Lycoming County Conservation District, formed under the Conservation District Law, is a subdivision of state government and is one of 66 Conservation Districts throughout the state of Pennsylvania.

The Lycoming District is managed by a seven member volunteer Board of Directors.  Any landowner or occupier in Lycoming County is eligible to serve on the board or as a non-voting Associate Director.  Monthly meetings take place at the Lysock Complex, 542 County Farm Road, Montoursville, PA 17754, the third Wednesday of each month (there are no meetings in June or December) at 7:00 PM in the first floor conference room.  All are welcome!!

Mission Statement:

Our mission is to encourage using Best Management Practices to conserve the natural resources essential to the quality of life for the county’s citizens, through development and implementation of technical, educational and financial assistance programs.

Environmental Education Resource Kits Available

 Aquatics, Forestry, Wildlife, Soils and Recycling/ Composting.  The kits include lesson plans, activities, movies, games and more.  Contact the District to borrow a kit

The Conservation District can provide environmental programs for schools and meetings. We can also assist with outdoor field days and events.
