The Lycoming County Pre-Release Center is a structured community corrections treatment program for offenders, operated by Lycoming County. It is operated in accordance with the Work Release/Pre-Release laws of the County and State. The Pre-Release Center houses a 105 male Work Release and Work Crew unit and a 32 female Work Release and Work Crew unit.
The Pre-Release Center provides offenders witht the opportunity to address issues that brought them into the criminal justice system in the first place. It allows offenders to participate in work release, educational programs, drug and alcohol counseling, life-skills training, community service and recreational activities.
The Pre-Release Center charges Work Release residents room, board, drug testing and other approved expenses. Work Release residents are expected to pay towards their cost, fines and restitution, as well as, child support. They are expected to maintain a balance of $100.00 in their account.
Saturday 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. and 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Thursday 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Sunday 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

Every visitor must have proper identification. All adults must present a photo ID and personally sign themselves in and out. Once a visitor leaves, they may not re-enter the facility during the visitation period.
Money may be dropped off and receipted at the beginning of the visitation. Money will not be accepted after the visit until all visitors have exited the facility. Cash or Money Order only. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.
Holding hands is the only permissible contact during a visit. A brief hug and kiss is permitted at the beginning and end of visit. A resident cannot escort their visitor beyond the visitation room. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Work Release may have clothing, books and bills brought in and clothing sent out. Work Crew may only have money dropped off.
Food and drink are not permitted to be brought in during visits but may be purchased from onsite vending machines.
Visitors are not allowed on PRC grounds during non-visitation times or earlier than one half hour before visitation. In addition, visitors are not permitted to stand at front entrance until fifteen minutes prior to visit.
Anyone currently on Probation, Parole, ARD or a PFA will not be permitted to visit. This also applies to anyone who has been incarcerated within the past six months.
All visitors who smell of alcohol will be turned away and may be permanently denied as a visitor.
Purses/handbags are not allowed into the facility. A small change purse is the only exception.
NO CELL PHONES or CAMERAS allowed!
